If you haven’t already been following my golf blog or been a customer of my power golf training aids over at Perform Better Golf, let me tell you a bit about me. I have been in fitness since I was 10 years old. You heard that right! I started lifting weights at the age of 10 (on my own) when no one that age considered doing it.
I quickly saw not only a change in my body physically, but the advantage I received in my sports was nothing short of amazing. In a few quick years, all my buddies wanted to start lifting weights and I was their only resource…so I guess I was personal training at the age of 12.
As the years went on I kept with my weight training and my athletic achievements kept getting better and better. In track and field I was a state-ranked athlete in more than 3 events for all 4 years of high school.
I then accepted a full ride scholarship to Oregon State University for the javelin in which I went to the NCAA Championships 2 out of the 4 years. I then went on to compete for Canada (that is where I was born) in the decathlon nearly qualifying for the Canadian National Olympic team.
In 1989, I retired from track and started my fitness career. Shortly after, I picked up golf and became addicted to say the least. I study golf swing mechanics and applied all my fitness knowledge to my golf fitness products, golf exercise book and golf fitness membership site. I am proud to say I’ve helped over 10,000 golfers from all over the world play better golf through fitness!
I might also add I am married to a beautiful woman name Kim (14 years and going strong), and have two awesome kids, Trent who is 12 and Taylor who is 9. Trent loves baseball and is a straight A student, and Taylor is a dancer, and unfortunately has her dad’s “type A” personality, and lack of patience.
